The role of the Assistant Sub Inspector in the Punjab Police Department is to maintain law and order, conduct investigations, and assist senior officers in discharging police duties. The ASI enforces laws, ensures community safety, and addresses various issues concerning public safety. An ASI needs to be highly communicative, a leader, and an analytical thinker, as the individual often plays the role of the first responder in any incident and has significant contributions to casework and community relations.
Responsibility
1-Laws and Crime Control Law enforcement and crime prevention that patrol designated areas and promptly respond to incidents by acting in accordance with laws such that criminal activities do not take place. Investigation Engage in gathering evidence and conducts interviews and assists in handling case resolutions by senior officers and provides public safety and services by responding to the needs of the public by alleviating their problems.
2-Documentation and Reporting: keeps record files on incidents, prepares reports, and delivers any information required to the superiors.
3-Crime Scene Management: maintains the crime scene, safeguards the evidence, and collaborates with the forensic team to enhance the accuracy and integrity of investigations.
4-Community Policing: communicates and cooperates with the public at large in respect of safety issues; this improves mutual trust and cooperation
5-Coordination with Other Units: Coordinate with other units within the police department and relevant emergency services.
Qualification
Bachelor Degree (2nd Division)
